I love the name Seth. I found out it's a Hebrew name. Can anyone tell me what it means?
The boy's name Seth is pronounced seth. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "set, appointed." Biblical: the third named son of Adam and Eve. Eve said Seth had been appointed to take the place of Abel, killed by Cain.
I love the name Seth. I found out it's a Hebrew name. Can anyone tell me what it means?

What is the Hebrew name of the Messiah?
Yeshua HaNazarite. Or to me personally... Adonia
What is the Hebrew name of the Messiah?
the hebrew word for messiah is Mosiach. If you believe Jesus is the Messiah, then his name would be Yeshua in Hebrew.
Reply:In Standard Hebrew it's Ma拧铆a岣? in Tiberian Hebrew it's M膩拧卯陋岣?
Reply:Messiah is the English pronunciation of the Hebrew word. It means annointed one.
In Greek it is Christos where we get our word Christ.
It's all the same thing-- Anointed One, Messiah, Christos

What is the name for the first part of the Hebrew Bible? ?
Torah?
Old Testament?
Book of the Dead?
Exodus?
What is the name for the first part of the Hebrew Bible? ?
The Torah
Reply:Jews call the first five books The Torah. Christians call them The Pentateuch. Both Jews and Christians also call them The Five Books of Moses.
The first five books are part of the Old Testament. The Old Testament is what Christians call the Hebrew Bible (or Tanakh)
The Book of the Dead is not part of the Hebrew Bible.
Exodus is the second book of the Bible.
Reply:The Torah - this is the holy Jewish text, and appears in scroll form in all Synagogues. We use Hebrew names for the five books of Moses, as opposed to the Greek names that are used by non Jews for the most part.
The 'old testament' is a purely Christian text. It was produced by the Church, and they reorganised it (wrongly!) and mistranslated some parts of it. No Jews read or study the OT.
The Tanakh is what we call the entire Hebrew scriptures: Torah, Prophets, Writings.

Reply:The Torah is the first five books. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy.
The old testament itself is known as the Tanakh
Reply:TORAH, also called the Pentateuch.
This includes Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
Reply:It's called the Torah and the Hebrew Bible in the ancient days was the Tenak and when that Tenak was on scrolls it was called the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Reply:Torah refers to the 5 books of Moses, which is the Torah.

Reply:i just think of Galileo (and he was Italian, so i would guess it's an Italian name really), I'm not sure we (I'm from Spain) have the feminine Galilea, or at least i or anyone i just asked :D have heard of it, so if it is a name from here then its surely a unique one and that always a good thing :D i don't really like it doesn't sound very feminine to me, but its up to you, i do love Lea for short though.
Reply:i dont like eather galilea or galilee... you have such pretty names in hebrew.... you have, sara, rivka, rachel, lea, naomi, ruth, michal, miriam, esther, tzipora and much more..
Reply:Galilea, definitely. Galilee is a city and with all the troubles in the middle east right now, i dont think that would be appropriate.
Reply:I'm not keen on either but would choose Galilea over Galilee.
I like Kelila. It's Hebrew but has quite an exotic sound to it
Reply:Galilea. :)
Reply:I like Galilea, but if you have a long last name, Galilee might flow better.
Reply:My favorite is Galilahi, it's Cherokee Indian for "snowbird" =)
Reply:Galilea and call her Lea for short

Reply:You mean Yom Kippur, and it's not a feast. It is a very solemn holy day, the Day of Atonement. It's my favorite day on the Jewish calendar, in part because I was born on Yom Kippur, but largely because of what it represents.
I had to Google "feast of trumpets", but apparently that is a name some use for Rosh HaShanah.
Other favorite festivals for me are Chanukah, Purim, and Shavuot.
