What is the Hebrew name for God?

Yahweh

What is the Hebrew name for God?
yaweh. is the hebrew word it means i am. ?
Reply:Yaweh i think. It means "I am" or something like that.
Reply:G-d has multiple different names, each representing something different. The one that is most commonly known, otherwise the one that everyone uses, is Hashem ('讛) which literally means, "the name". The other common one is pronouned, "Adonai", which means, "My master". I would tell you more, but I am not confortable with the idea, sorry!
Reply:Yahwey is the Catholic version

Jehovah is recognised world wide.
Reply:YHWH, Yahweh, or Jehovah. There are others, though.
Reply:Yahweh I believe. I went to Catholic school.
Reply:Yeshua is God's name in Hebrew, but there is also Abba, meaning Father, also Elohim.
Reply:definitly NOT yaweh or whatever. maybe thats how catholics or christians say it. in judaism, god has many names like elohim (mostly used when praying or in the prayer book) , or sh'dai (mostly found on mezuzahs), or hashem (meaning 'the name') or adonai. but we don't really say gods name in vain, so you dont hear people swearing or yelling to hashem.
