What is the meaning of Roth, a Hebrew name?

Roth name is a Hebrew name

What is the meaning of Roth, a Hebrew name?
The name Ruth (专讜转) comes from the Hebrew word "Re'uth" [专注讜转], meaning friendship.

The connection between Ruth and Re'uth is not immediate for the common Hebrew speaker, though.

The names of the Book of Ruth are really interesting because they are almost allegorical: each name matches the "role" of the person in the story.
Reply:Roth is not a Hebrew (family) name. It's a German Jewish name, like Maus explained.

On the other hand - Ruth is a Hebrew first name (pronounced "Root" in Hebrew)

As far as I know, "Ruth" doesn't have a meaning in Hebrew and it first appeared in the "Book of Ruth".

Ruth was a Moabite who joined to the Jewish nation (well, that's a VERY brief summary of the book in one sentence)
