Eve's real true hebrew name is Chavah. Why don't people say G-d created Adam and Chavah, not Adam and whoever?

Also this question of mine didn't post, can you answer it: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Eve's real true hebrew name is Chavah. Why don't people say G-d created Adam and Chavah, not Adam and whoever?
That is very interesting. Because up until about a month ago. I did not know that Eve's real name was Chavah, or Chuwa, as I have learned it.

You are right. It was anglicized to Eve to convenience English speakers. But, in my own opinion, both Chavah and Chuwa are so much more beautiful then what she is now called. I don't know why people can't leave names alone.

I would really love to own a Bible with the original spelling of names. I mean, even the name Jehovah wouldn't be correct, because in the old text, Jehovah begins with an "I". Not a "J"
Reply:Because the Woman's name has been Anglicized, as have many of the Hebrew proper names in English translations of the Bible.

Indeed there is little consistency in the rendering of names in the various Bible translations. The name Zebulon (OT) is rendered as Zebedee in the NT. The name Joshua (Yehoshuah - God saves) is rendered as Jesus in the NT.

Yehoshuah, Yeshuah, Iesous, Iesus, Jesus - same name.
Reply:the man's hebrew name is Adamah not Adam and his Sumerian name was Adapa which is older than hebrew. Haway was eve's real name.
Reply:because then we'd have to explain it to everyone....

the majority of people know her as "eve", so to facilitate communication, those who know the correct name will use what other's know...
Reply:because 'Adam and Eve' sounds better and is the way it has been said forever even the bible says Eve.
Reply:In the english it is EVE.

So when they used English in the bible they used the English name not the Hebrew name.
Reply:G-d created Burberry's?
Reply:As speakers of English, we tend to Englishise things an go with that. Why say God? The word "God" is never used in the original Bible. Same thing.
