Does anyone Hebrew characters for the name "Gershom"?

If you aren't allowed to post the characters on Y!A, I'd appreciated it. You'll get 10 points.

Also, does anyone know the exact meaning? Some sources say "stranger" while other says "the exiled one".

Does anyone Hebrew characters for the name "Gershom"?
It's either גרשום or גרשֹם

It has nothing to do with גירש ("banished").

גר ("Ger") is a stranger/foreigner.

The first occurrence of this name is in Exodus 2:23, which explains the name: "For I've been a stranger in a foreign land".

Reply:גּרשׁום

Gimel resh shin vav mem.

According to Strong's concordance, it means "refugee".

From the word "Garash" meaing to "drive out" or divorce, or more properly to usurp a persons property/position by driving them out.

So Gershom could mean "usurped", "driven out", "divorced one", or "refugee".

Gershom was a son of Moses, and therefore it became a rather traditional Hebrew name.
