My doubt is because of Baruch Spinoza or Benedictus Spinoza...
How do hebrew-speaking catholics name pope Benedict XVI? Baruch XVI?
They call him Benedict. Spinoza's original name was Baruch; he changed to Benedict it once he formally abandoned Judaism.
The pope has never had a Jewish name.
Reply:One cannot extrapolate from Spinoza. Jews often have a Hebrew name and a non-Hebrew name.
A person's name is what he calls himself.
Benedictus is Benedictus.
