Lucifer is not a Semitic (Arabic or Hebrew) word.

It is derived from Latin (like the name "Lucy"=light, with the suffix "-ifer" maning "bringer".) So the "light-bringer" star, usually the brightest object in the morning sky next to the moon, is also called Venus, and is understood by modern astronomy to be the seconmd planet from the sun. The naming of celestial objects is purely arbitrary, an atrifact of the cultures and mythologies of the people making the observations and giving them labels.
