What was the actually hebrew name for jesus? I mean, what his mother would have called him (no translations)?

No translations please, I want to know what his mother would have called him, his ACTUAL name. (this is for a book in which I must use some nice symbolism without being to blunt and saying 'jesus')

What was the actually hebrew name for jesus? I mean, what his mother would have called him (no translations)?
"Yehoshu'a".

His nickname would be "Yeshu'a", and in Hebrew, his name is "Yeshu".

Yehoshu'a was the name of one of the twelve spies that was sent to Canaan in the old testament. It means "god is salvation", and the Anglicized form of it is "Joshua".
Reply:Y'eshua. If you translate the name directly into English you get Joshua. If you translate the name from Greek to English you get Jesus.
Reply:It would not have been Hebrew. It would have been Aramaic.
Reply:Yeshu or Yeshua... im israeli and that is what he is what he is called in hebrew...
Reply:Josh from the West Bank.
Reply:he was called yashua. ya in hebrew means god shua is salvation translated god is my salvation . in english it is joshua jesus is greek or spelled in greek iesus mean son of zues ie zues. it was a title and not a name. we are all sons (and daughters) of god .. hence we can all claim the title of jesus.. but a word of warning . if you say that you are jesus it may be correct others with little education of foriegn languages would not understan and label you as crazy. this is true but sad.. signed jesus
Reply:Yeshua:)
Reply:Yahosua ... short version Yashua.
Reply:Yeshua. The language spoken was ancient Aramaic. This would be as close as possible . It means Jehovah (pronounced Yehovah)saves.
Reply:Yahshua.
