if their names are already Hebrew? Because here in America Jewish children get a jewish name when they are a baby. But in Israel that doesn't seem like it would be necessary...
Do people in Israel get a hebrew name....?
Most Israelis don't have middle names, but as our first names are usually Hebrew to begin with we don't need another formal Jewish name.
There are, by the way, many Israeli Hebrew names that are not common outside Israel.
Reply:: ) You surmised correctly. Most Jews born in Israel are given Hebrew names only. Thus, these names are used for all purposes, including being called up to the Torah in synagogue, or in performing other Jewish rituals.
It is common in some circles --and in some families-- to have first AND middle names.
My own kids each have 2 names. A lot of the people I run into have middle names, but only some use both on a daily basis. Moreover, I know a lot of people with 3 or more given names (ie, Avraham Tzvi Chaim or Tiferet Sara Chana). In certain religious circles, some of the children are traditionally named for relatives with Yiddish names.
Knowing someone's given name in Israel can sometimes provide you with knowledge regarding that person's generation or the society and family background into which s/he was born. There are researchers like Professor Aaron Demsky

who can explain this in depth.
