The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan derived its name from the Prophet's sect, Hashem.
Does the tribe name of Prophet Mohammad, Hashem, have origins in the Hebrew name for G-d, Ha Shem?
I doubt it.
The Hebrew name for god, "HaShem" ("the name"), is written 讛砖诐 (H-SH-M), and the the letter Heh ("Ha" in "HaShem") is just the word "the". It is actually two different words: Ha (讛, the) and Shem (砖诐, name). The word Shem has an Arabic matching word: Ism.
Hashem, the tribe, is written 賴丕卮賲 (H-'-SH-M) and the letter Ha is an integral part of the word and its root. This word is formed in a classic Arabic mold: Faa'il (haashim), and most probably does not have any connection to the Hebrew HaShem.
Reply:Ha Shem means, the name. Shem derives from the name of Noah's son, Shem.

But anything is possible with all the years between.
Sad that there had to be so many twists and HATE in the intervening years.
